Sharing is not illegal but copyright infringement is a crime - Don't subscribe at MusicETC.com

I am not a fanatical copyright infringement activist or purist but I feel that some legal/commercial looking sites which sell downloads give me the creeps. This site MusicETC.com leaves the responsibility to the end user if they buy music downloading service per monthly basis. Legally speaking for example it is also illegal to sell or lend stolen cars, isn´t it? Same way these kind of shady mp3 stores tries to sell stolen music. By downloading this "free mp3 music" you are sure that artists will not get paid for their music.

Read the small text at http://www.musicetc.com/create_account.html

You can download music responsibly! Today, there are approximately 240 million users sharing files on legal file-sharing networks. Sharing is not illegal as long as you obey all relevant copyright laws. Sharing copyrighted material, without permission to do so, is illegal. Purchasing a membership to MusicETC.com does not give you license to download or upload copyrighted material. MusicETC.com implores you to respect all copyright laws.

After signing up for this service, you will be able to download free content. Our service is not free, there are subscription fees you will see if you choose to signup.

WTF?

After signing up for this service, you will be able to download free content.

They tell they have free downloads after you have signing up.
I say WTF?

Sharing is not illegal as long as you obey all relevant copyright laws

This is also BS
You cannot detour copyright laws by sharing illegal music. Sharing illegal music is a crime.

What I suggest is for you to do? Go to legal music stores like iTunes, Napster etc.
There you don´t have to worry about illegal activity.
